Rust
Vincent Dance Theatre / Gerard Renvez

A collaboration between Nesta Fellow Gerard Renvez and Vincent Dance Theatre. For three weeks the group researched, developed and improvised ideas around rust, corrosion, water, dust, machinery and industrial techniques. The group explored interactive performance techniques using Gerard’s existing paper sculptures and video projection, created long group improvisations and short dance works in response to the given themes. The end result is a 15 minute documentation of the work (a beautiful visual art video short) and a series of photographs that detail the variety of textural, choreographic and emotional responses to the set themes.
