Gravity And Levity, Shift

2008, 25 mins

‘A plank and a passion in blissful pursuit: it’s a mes-merising combination.’ The Sunday Times

Gravity & Levity was launched in 2003 to explore the creative and expressive potential achievable through applying a dance aesthetic to aerial suspension techniques.

Shift brings together contemporary dance, aerial circus and physical theatre in a production choreographed by Charlotte Vincent, Charles Linehan and STOMP co-creators Luke Cresswell and Steve McNicholas. Shift is an intimate and eloquent aerial performance played out on a moving, sculptural set designed by Mish Weaver.

Shift was commissioned by ROH2 at The Royal Opera House, Corn Exchange Newbury and Nuffield Lancaster and funded by Arts Council England.
