Art of Attachment

We are pleased to invite you to ART OF ATTACHMENT (recommended age 12+).

It will be an evening of two new works made in collaboration with women and children at Brighton Oasis Project (BOP), a unique substance misuse treatment service in the heart of Brighton.

Poet Lemn Sissay OBE will perform a new commissioned poem and Vincent Dance Theatre, alongside women from BOP, will take to the stage with a new performance.

The powerful and uplifting performance combines hard-hitting real-life testimonies, movement and spoken word to evoke the emotional, personal and social impact of Attachment on all of our lives.

Hear from the artists about their creative process on the night with post-performance discussions with Lemn before the interval, and Charlotte and members of the cast after their performance.

For younger audience members, there will be a creative workshop they can for attend for the second half of the evening.

Charlotte and Lemn’s involvement has been facilitated through a Wellcome Arts Award. Brighton Oasis Project, through support from Arts Council England, have also engaged filmmaker Becky Edmunds, illustrator Laura Bissonet and painter Oscar Romp to run sessions and their work will be presented at various points throughout 2018 in Brighton and beyond.

For more information and to keep up to date with the project, see the Art of Attachment Facebook page.
