Luisa Lazzaro

Luisa graduated from Laban in London in 1995 and returned to her native Italy to work with MDA, directed by Aurelio Gatti and Roberta Escamilla Garrison. In the same year she was also a member of Off-Night Repertory Theatre acting in contemporary theatre pieces in Rome. Before returning to the UK in 2007, she worked with NorrDans in Sweden under the direction of Jeanne Yasko dancing in new creations by choreographers Stephen Petronio, Ramon Oller, Uri Igvi, Johan Greben and Ted Stoffer, and repertory pieces by Rui Horta and Itzik Galili and for Altroteatro in Rome, directed by Lucia Latour in a research project integrating dance, architecture and new technology. Since 2007 she has choreographed her own work and worked in opera productions with choreographers Philippe Giraudeau and Aletta Collins. Luisa is also a licensed Gyrotonic instructor and teaches one to one to sessions at Studio 74 and Kinesis Studios in London. The 2010 North American tour of Broken Chords is the first time Luisa has worked with Vincent Dance Theatre.
