Jonny Aubrey-Bentley

Jonny is currently in his 3rd year of training at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance. During his training, he has worked with Jane McKernan, Rod Dixon, Humanhood, Anthony Middleton, Lila Dance, and Jamaal Burkmar. Prior to his training Jonny has performed in various work, such as ‘Kes’ by Jonathan Watkins, ‘That Night Follows Day’ by Tim Etchells (Forced Entertainment) and he was also a company member of the Sheffield Peoples Theatre.

He has always had a huge passion for theatre and after graduating aspires to create his own work. He is a qualified yoga teacher and is interested in other somatic practices including; Wing Chun, Tai Chi, Aikido and Contact Improvisation. He also has a love for music and poetry/rapping and often performs at local spoken word evenings across Leeds.

SHUT DOWN is Jonny’s first production with VDT.
