Jem Treays

Jem Treays is a Wales based performer, director and choreographer. He performs scored improvisational work that investigates the personal whilst exploring the mechanics of choreography and dance. He engages collaboratively with other artists (most notably director Paula Crutchlow from BlindDitch) to provoke and to catalyse the work. He strives to create engaging multi textured work that crosses the disciplines of dance, improvisation, acting and voice. Jem performed in Surrender Yourself To Me, Charlotte Vincent’s commission for Welsh Independent Dance in 2005. He was invited to join the Stand Up research in 2007, a period of intense research initiated by Vincent Dance Theatre.
