
Carly Best

Carly graduated from London Contemporary Dance School with a 1st Class degree in 2004. She joined Ascendance Rep for their CHAPS tour in 2005 and then began working with Jonathan Lunn Dance Company on the initial stages of Reading Room. From there they developed Self-Assembly for the finals of The Place Prize 2006 and subsequently performed the duet at Les Reperages 2007 in Lille, British Dance Edition 2008 and Tel Aviv international dance festival 2008. The full work of Reading Room enjoyed a British tour last summer including performances at The Queen Elizabeth Hall, South Bank. Carly performed as dancer for English National Opera in Aida, 2007 and was delighted to return to the production in 2008 as revival choreographer. Other credits include Carmen 2009, Royal Albert Hall, and The Snowman 2007/08. She has also worked as dancer, teacher and rehearsal director for Ajose-Cutting Dance and with Chisato Minamimura on her current work Canon. Carly is based in London. Making and touring If We Go On in 2009/10 was her first collaboration with Vincent Dance Theatre.
